Parent Helper Classroom Training

Dear parents and carers,

A friendly reminder that by the start of term 4, prior to parents helping in the classroom at HEPS you must attend a parent helper training session.

We have two sessions coming up: (both will be conducted in the library)

  • Thursday 12th September, 3.45-4.45pm and
  • Tuesday 17th September, 5.30-6.30pm

Kind Regards,
Christine, Anita and Dale

Free Garden Mulch

Morning all,

As part of our ground works, we have some free garden mulch (approximately 40 cubic metres) available to our school community. If you would like to take some garden mulch, it is only accessible Monday - Friday 5:00pm to 6:30pm.
It is not available on the weekends or during the school day.

The garden mulch is located on the school oval; to access, please enter through the staff carpark (the white bollards can lifted out and removed) and you can drive onto the oval and back right up to the mulch (pile is stacked against the concrete retaining wall).
Please be mindful of the conditions when driving on the oval and collecting the mulch.

Due to unforeseen circumstances and after exploring various options it has been decided that the canteen will be closed for the remainder of term 3.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Thank you!

HEPS Footy Walkathon 2019

Wednesday 18th September 12:00-12:50 pm

Dear Parents,

We will be holding a major fundraiser for the school in the form of our annual walkathon. This is always a very popular event and a great way to promote walking as a vital form of exercise, especially with our Active Travel to School program operating this year. The proceeds from this walkathon will be used to update the line markings on the court areas. Freshly painted lines will enable students to clearly identify the boundaries and fully enjoy their outdoor sports, games and activities.

All students are encouraged to join in the walk and wear their favourite sporting teams colours. The track is held in the school grounds and each lap is approximately 500 metres. For more information check Compass. A notice will be sent home to all parents via students.

Get in the mood for nude food!

Let’s give it a go HEPS!

Let’s step on the ‘Rubbish Free’ train to a better looking school, a healthier environment and a school with students who have the chance to become more aware of what they are eating.

For the first week of August, we challenge you to make the plain old ‘carrot’ as fun as you can make it. There will be a prize for the best seen carrot snack. We look forward to seeing all of the creative ways in which a carrot can be sliced and diced.

Congratulations on an amazing month of 'Nude Food'. Already the school grounds have less rubbish and cleaner play spaces. Please continue and encourage parents to use less wrappers in your lunches!

Level 6 Production 2019

Our Level 6 students have been working incredibly hard on their production, Rock Bottom! We wish all our students the best for both performances. Break a leg!

At HEPS, we are proud to be a SunSmart school! We value our health and are aware of the potential for skin damage resulting from sun exposure.

Wide-brimmed hats are included in our uniform from September to April. You might like to apply sunscreen before school and also keep some in your bag, classroom or chair bag.
